Book Signing with Tony DiTerlizzi

So, yesterday I went to Barnes and Nobles with my aunt and Omar for a book signing.  Tony DiTerlizzi, author of The Spiderwick Chronicles, was there promoting his new book The Search for Wondla.  At first when I came, I felt really out of place because I felt like I was way too old to be there.  There were only like 25 people that showed up though.  I'm actually really glad that I went. I learned that he actually started out as an illustrator and he's really in touch with his dork side. The guy is like mad cool and funny.  It was an honer to meet him.

On a side note, hanging out with Omar at Barnes and Nobles was super fun.  I was like a little kid again running up and down the aisles checking out all the games and star wars stuff they had.  I found this really cool holographic book for Star Wars and I kept messing around with it.

And Omar was a total fanboy when it came to Tony DiTerlizzi.  The author kept walking around the bookstore just to kill time before the event and we kept coming across him and every time Omar would discreetly point him out. And what was even more funny was that when we actually went upstairs for the event and sat down, Tony DiTerlizzi comes in and sits right behind us because he was trying to blend in. And Omar was like trying so hard not to fanboy because his favorite author was sitting right behind him.  His mom and I were cracking so badly.  He just felt so awkward about the whole situation.  Anyways, Omar ended up winning a signed sketch of one of his characters that the author did in front of us.  I got a signed copy of his new book. :]
